Eva and Nora’s Short-Term Adventure
Eva and her husband were expecting their first child. Like any soon-to-be parents, they wanted minimal stress during the process – but recognised such basics as getting from A to B needed to be covered off.
“We realised we were going to need a car to run random errands and also attend hospital visits,” Eva says.
The pair were also planning a short trip to NSW to attend a family wedding and, due to the advanced stage of Eva’s pregnancy, felt driving was the safer option.
There was one problem, however: they didn’t want to buy a car. “Around the same time I saw an ad from Maxxia about a short-term lease and it sounded perfect for what I was after,” Eva says.
Eva, who works in public relations at Alfred Health, made the call to Maxxia’s Short-Term Lease consultant Stuart and soon after, was behind the wheel of a 2017 Holden Astra sedan. The car proved crucial in the end, given it transported Eva to the hospital for the birth of her daughter, Nora.
“It also brought her home for the first time, too,” Eva adds (see main picture). When asked on a scale of one to 10 how she’d recommend a Short-Term Lease to friends and family, she says: “Personally, a 10. It gives you the feeling of owning a car without actually owning it and all the responsibilities that come with owning a car.”
She adds: “It’s perfect for those who don't have a daily need for a car but anticipate an increased need for, or access to one for a specific amount of time in the future.”
Eva, who says she and her husband remain undecided about whether they need a car permanently, says her experience with Maxxia was also memorable. “Communication was excellent and the consultant was always friendly and happy to answer any questions,” she says.
“The pre-tax stuff can sometimes be complicated to understand but they were always patient and available to guide me through the process.”
